Italian-born and New York City resident Marco Panascia (pronounced Pana-SEE-ah) has entered the international spotlight by touring in the United States, Europe and Asia with young jazz piano sensation Eldar, and by recording with him on the Sony BMG Masterworks label. Mentored by L.A. studio legend Carol Kaye, Panascia was the first prize winner of the 1998 Edinburgh International Double Bass competition in Scotland, and his performance credits on acoustic and electric bass include some of the finest artists on the contemporary jazz scene and beyond, such as Herbie Hancock, Joe Lovano, Quincy Jones, Bobby McFerrin, Eric Reed, Dave Liebman, Roy Hargrove, Chris Botti, Gary Burton, Peter Erskine, Vincent Herring, Jeremy Pelt... more ->
